The meaning of "Miah"
As many of you know, Miah was named after my Dad (who died when I was 15) . I was very close with him, and very much a daddy's girl. He was truly one of the best fathers a girl could of ever hoped for. The only thing I hate is that he was taken from me much too soon.
After he died, I looked at his name, and realized his initials (MIA) spelled the girls name "Mia" (Mee-Ah) .. I said from then on that if I have a girl, I'm naming her Mia after my Dad. Eventually I changed it to Miah (My-Uh) because I liked how My-Uh sounded with our last name, and I changed the spelling and added an "H" to make it different and help people pronounce "My-Uh" (Unfortunately she's called Mee-Ah a lot LOL) I hate popular names and obviously My-uh (Often spelled Mya or Maya) is a popular name, but the meaning it had to me, for her to be named after my dad, was not something I was ever going to give up. So, I changed the spelling and made it have a little flair!
It's very special to me to have my favorite girl named after my first favorite guy! I know he would LOVE being Miah's Grandpa, and would just adore this child to pieces. When she gets older, I will be sure to tell her all about her Grandpa, and about the special meaning of her name, and about my relationship with Him. I'm praying Miah has the same relationship I had with my Dad, with her Dad. There's nothing more special than the love of a father, and a daddy/daughter relationship <3
