Anyone who knows me, knows i'm crazy in love with my cats. We've had Bentley since January 2010 and Schmegal since April 2010. They were our first "babies" in a sense (though they didn't prepare us for parenthood whatsoever!)  When we got pregnant I prayed often that they would do well with the baby, and that they would be happy with our new addition.

During my pregnacy, Schmegal was VERY cuddly with me and would lay over my belly constantly as if he were protecting the baby. He would purr and Miah would start kicking. We thought for sure, Miah & Schmegal would get along great. Bentley on the other hand, scared us. He got SO mean during my pregnancy, and anytime someone would come into our apartment he'd growl and bite at them (SO not typical for our sweet little guy!) He would also attack me every once in awhile if I didn't give him enough attention. I found out from someone that cats can sense a change in hormones when your pregnant and can get nasty. We thought "great, if this doesn't change, we can't keep him around the baby...we'll have to get rid of him". I cried numerous nights over this (hello hormones lol).

To my surprise, once we brought Miah home, I was shocked to see that Bentley was back to his normal, happy, crazy, loving self! He was very sweet with Miah and loved to just look at her. Schmegal (much to our surprise) didn't care at all about her lol. He smells her but thats about the extent of their relationship. Bentley comes up next to her and cuddles, he comes and "yells" at us when she's crying (as if he's asking "why aren't you helping her?!") and is just an all around good boy with her! We NEVER saw it going this way, we thought for sure Schmegal would love her and Bentley would hate her. Thankfully neither of them hate her but, I think she's definitely Bentley's favorite :)
